Transamerica (2005) Director, Duncan Tucker. A transsexual male discovers he is a father when his clueless son calls searching for his dad. The timing could not be worse, as he is about to undergo a sex-change operation.

Normal (2003) Director, Jane Anderson. A middle-aged husband comes out as a cross dresser, stunning his wife, child and community.

The Secret (2006) Director, Drew Heriot. A documentary that discusses cutting-edge scientific research about making positive changes in your life. This is a fascinating film that can offer ways of dealing with stressful, transitional life circumstances. This film does not have any specific connection to cross dressing.  Nonetheless, it offers suggestions on how to accept what you cannot change.

To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything, Julie Newmar (1995) Director, Beeban Kidron. A comedy about three drag queens on a cross-country road trip starring Patrick Swayze and Wesley Snipes.

Priscilla, Queen of the Desert (1994) Director, Stephan Elliott.  Academy Award-winning Australian film about three drag queens (two gay men - one about to come out to his child - and a transsexual woman) driving across the outback from Sydney to Alice Springs in a large bus they have christened Priscilla.  This bawdy and often touching film offers insight into the complexities that can be involved in gender variancy.
